The staff were very friendly, everything was spotless and kept clean all the time, the breakfast was included and huge and varied (fresh juice, fresh fruit, Gallo Pinto, fried eggs, toast with butter and jam). Free coffee and water all day, fast Wi‑Fi, nice lounge area. The 8‑bed dorm had no curtains and the beds were very close together (I knew that from the photos, but it’s definitely a drawback).

Location, location, location. Having on‑street parking with a staff member watching the cars was a huge help, and the AC was a lifesaver during a heatwave. The staff were super kind. The mattress had to be replaced – it was very uncomfortable. Light in the hallway made it hard for us light‑sensitive people to sleep, and the lack of blinds at dawn only made it worse. The shower head needed replacing. Breakfast quality and timing were lacking, but the café next door made up for it. I didn’t mind skipping the hostel breakfast for an inexpensive option a few steps away.
