The setting among the ancient olive trees is stunning, and the room itself is cozy. However, there is no on‑site breakfast, even though a suitable area exists in the cottage. The room does have a mini‑espresso machine and some biscuits, but because the cottage is several kilometres from the nearest towns (Polignano or Monopoli) and parking is only available outside the old town, breakfast would really be a plus. The cottage sometimes hosts receptions, and that happened on our first night, with music playing late into the night without any warning, so our night was quite short. The shower tray has black stains that should be replaced.

The place is great for relaxing once you arrive because it’s a farmhouse, and you can eat out. Obviously on the first day, until you get used to the roads, you’re forced to stay the night in Monopoli or Polignano. We were greeted warmly and the rest of the accommodation was invisible (the house is that big). It isn’t clearly stated what is particular about the owners, but it’s implied, and because it isn’t stated it gives a sense of more space. The car situation is a bit confusing. You have to know that Waze doesn’t show the location; I told Waze to take me to a nearby tile company and then, by intuition, you arrive but feel lost. Apparently Google does show it by coordinates, and Apple Maps doesn’t recommend that the owners tell guests which browser to use. We said we were using Waze but they didn’t correct us, suggesting Google. In short: it’s not recommended to arrive on the first night at night, because the feeling of getting lost is total (and we did get lost). For example, it’s not the same to go to the accommodation from Bari or Polignano (easier) than from Monopoli or Brindisi (medium difficulty). However, from the apartment to Polignano it’s tricky because you first have to go in the opposite direction on service roads. When you look at the map you think you have a beach close by in a nearby ravine, but because of the location you have to detour on rural roads and the only beaches worth visiting are in Capitolo and in tourist mode the ones in Polignano.

Good location for an overnight stay before the transfer to Bari Airport. Quiet and somewhat off‑the‑beaten‑path amid olive trees.

This is a beautiful property, located in a peaceful countryside for a relaxing stay in Puglia. It was the perfect way to start our trip around Puglia. The garden is lovely, and we particularly enjoyed the little courtyard outside our room to have an evening drink or breakfast in the morning. For self‑catering, it would be good to provide a few more utensils such as forks, knives, spoons, cups, glasses, etc. Everything is plastic, from cups to cutlery, which is disappointing from a sustainability point of view and inconvenient for preparing food. There is nowhere within walking distance to get food or drink, so better facilities to self‑cater would be great.
