Parking was easy and check‑in efficient. Our room was comfortable, especially the bed, and we slept peacefully. Breakfast was well organised and the cooked food delicious. We would have liked to stay an extra night or two to explore the area more widely.

The location was good – just a short walk into Largs. The room was clean and comfortable, but the décor was slightly tired, as with many budget hotels we booked for overnight stops on our NC500 road trip. The door to the W.C. was ill‑fitted and wouldn’t shut properly, and some ceramic floor tiles were cracked; the mirror over the wash‑basin was stuck on top of a larger mirror—what was it with that?
