The location was very good, but the entire unit smelled awful—extremely like cat urine and sewer odor.

We stayed in a family‑friendly pension with a nice location, a pleasant atmosphere, and a good variety of breakfast options. The property sits in a car‑traffic‑restricted area, and we asked whether there was a partner parking lot. The staff claimed there was an agreement with a nearby lot, but when we went there we learned there was no arrangement and the daily fee was 400 TL. With no other choice, we parked our cars there. When we mentioned this to the manager, he said the parking was cheaper than the city lot instead of admitting there was no agreement. During check‑in we also ran into booking problems: one room was booked for 2 adults and two children aged 5 and 7 (three people total), while the other room was for 2 adults and three children aged 4, 10 and 16 (four people total). The front desk staff reacted, “How am I supposed to fit that many people in one room?” and then demanded an extra 20 € per child for breakfast and bathroom use, citing the 4‑ and 5‑year‑olds as reasons; we paid an additional 40 €. While paying, the staff warned, “Don’t complain on Booking.” I’m not complaining, but if Booking sets the rate, they should collect it from the pension. The friend’s bill was listed as 54.50 €, but the cashier added 56 € to the final total. Despite the extra fee, the rooms received only 3 and 4 bottles of water respectively; when we pointed out the shortage, the staff dismissed it as a “small thing” and we had to refill the water ourselves. Hygiene was also an issue: I found two snails in the bathroom and removed them myself. When I reported it, the explanation was that “you’re close to the floor,” which I understand may happen in damp areas, but I still expected better hygiene standards.
