The bed was a little uncomfortable, and some dishes weren’t fully cleaned.

There was a lot of room, and I liked everything.

The manager was very kind and accommodating, especially after Bookings.com left me stuck in a bed dilemma. Even though the hotel was overbooked, Ronda made us feel as comfortable as possible.

The town of Carrolton is tiny, with the nearest Walmart 45 minutes away, but a Dollar General Market across from the hotel stays open until midnight, which helped us get groceries and other items. Outside of a Pizza Hut, there are no chain sit‑down restaurants in town, only a handful of fast‑food spots; this might be fine for some, but it’s clearly rural and far from a larger town with more dining options. The hotel itself feels very dated, and the Wi‑Fi was problematic the whole time we were there; the general manager explained that the hotel is dealing with a contract issue with the internet company. Our room was clean enough to stay in—no bed bugs or mold—but there were grease hand stains on the curtains, and the rug was visibly worn after years of dirt and needs steaming or removal; I didn’t walk on it without shoes during the entire stay. The TV was very small for a suite‑type room, and while the kitchen area was nice, I avoided using any of the cups, utensils, or dishware because the overall age of the rooms meant they hadn’t been deep‑cleaned. The staff were very kind and supplied towels when requested. Our room was never serviced over the four nights, and there was no garbage pail in the bathroom until I asked at the front desk, at which point one was provided. A 24‑hour coffee machine in a small hotel store in the lobby offers a variety of creamers and syrups. The pool area and outdoor picnic area looked nice, but rain and cold made it unusable.
