The condition of the place was poor.

The location and breakfast were spot on, and the manager handled the bathroom and leaking kitchen tap fast and well. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful, making us feel like we were leaving our family behind. The bathroom itself was a bit outdated.

The hotel sits close to the beach but in a busy part of town; the facilities were nice and clean, and a police station is within walking distance. The bedding, cutlery, and crockery were very neat. However, the water pressure in the bathroom was very poor, making showers difficult, and the plumbing seemed problematic. No parking was available, which was disappointing, and neighbors were partying all weekend, so we never heard them sleep.

We felt unwelcome even before arriving. While traveling between Luderitz and Aus, we had a tyre burst and sat on the roadside in the hot sun for almost three hours until a passing couple helped us. The booking lady, Faretta, called us repeatedly during the trip, asking how far we were and when we'd arrive, and every time she called she made distressing noises. We agreed on a 10 pm arrival, but we got there past 8 pm, and she told us we had ruined her day because it was her daughter’s birthday, and that the office was an hour away from where she lived. She even asked why we took so long, claiming Rosh Pina is a “klipgooi” from Port Nolloth, which seemed unprofessional. The police escorted us to the office where we met her, and when the police spoke to her on the phone, he called her Vonkie. The welcome was very cold. The house was old and poorly maintained. It was advertised as Grazia, but we couldn’t find it on our GPS or any sign on Main Road. She explained the name had changed to Bedrock Accommodation. We booked at an office opposite the ocean, then were directed to a house behind the street. Cars had to back up to park behind a gate at that office, and our husbands had to walk in the dark. Only one car could park there because another guest had parked in a way that left no space for our second vehicle, so the other car had to park in front of the house on the street. We were on a Namibian road trip, had booked several accommodations, and all the other hosts had welcomed us warmly and understood the long distances between stops.
