“お料理のおいしい大人の隠れ宿”
The food was delicious and the view from the room surrounded by nature was wonderful. However, the Wi‑Fi in the room was unreliable, sometimes working and sometimes not.

It was truly a hidden gem, a lovely hotel. Everyone else besides us were foreigners, so it was fun to chat a bit. The neighbor is a trail that crosses a valley on a suspension bridge, giving it a garden‑like feel that’s a must‑see. The staff were friendly and the food delicious. The added wing probably caused a slight slope in the hallway, which could trip up older guests.

A tiny magical ryokan! A unique spot in a small village. We didn’t have a car, but it’s still doable. We took a bus and commuter train from Tokyo, then a commuter train, bus, and Shinkansen to Kyoto. The staff were sweet and helpful even though almost nobody spoke English. They guided us and helped with any issues. Warm and unpretentious. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Relaxing and pretty. Nice to soak the onsen in the room. The public onsen was small but lovely, divided into a men’s and a women’s section. We stayed two nights and, unfortunately, we’re not big fans of Japanese food, so the beautiful Kaiseki meals didn’t hit the mark. Especially the breakfasts, which we barely ate. Still, it was an incredibly unforgettable experience! We had lunch at Cocorism in the village, which had fantastic food. Unfortunately, we had a stormy day there, so we couldn’t hike or boat, but we got to enjoy the calm from our room. I can definitely recommend booking this little gem despite the price!

A wonderful traditional Japanese inn that felt like a world away. The food was delicious and traditional. The staff were warm and accommodating, and eating in the room was a relaxing way to end the day. The in‑room onsen had natural spring water, but I preferred the hotel onsen to soothe the aches from hiking. The inn has only 8 rooms and sits above a river gorge. I want to return. Overall great value considering the quality of everything from the food to the room. Nothing else. I wish they had more drinking water in the room, although they did give us four bottles a night. I still like more water than most.
