The rooms were tidy and the pool was lovely; the hotel surprised us with a gift in the room for a special occasion, complete with a handwritten card—a nice personal touch. The restaurant’s menu was very limited; I would have liked a better coffee option in the room or at the hotel.

The hotel’s location is beautiful and the building looks great. The room layout was good with enough power points, and the buffet breakfast was convenient. It’s within walking distance of shops and other amenities. However, the overall service was uneven: a few staff members were friendly and helpful, but most in the dining area seemed disengaged and not very welcoming when we asked questions. The room had several maintenance problems: the bathroom extractor fan wasn’t working, and we were told no repairs could be scheduled because contractor availability was unknown. With no window or working extractor, ventilation was poor, so the bathroom steamed up heavily during use and we had to leave the door open to let the moisture escape. The kettle in the room was lower quality than expected for a hotel of this caliber and took an unusually long time to boil water. Additionally, the arrival and departure process was problematic: at the main gate we were asked to produce documentation that should have been provided by the hotel, and because we didn’t have it, we experienced delays and were unnecessarily questioned on both occasions.

It was great and value for money. I didn't like how difficult it was to organise my game drive bookings. I emailed in advance so that we wouldn't miss out, which they said they would book. but didn't. So some of the game drives we wanted to do were booked out when we got there (sad)
