“Experience globalement désagréable”
The hotel is central and close to all shops, the receptionist was nice, the room was spacious and the shower water was hot. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired; housekeeping seemed rushed, the sink hadn’t been scrubbed in ages, there were hairs in the shower and on the floor and the corners were rarely cleaned. The bed was uncomfortable with noticeable springs, only one of the five ceiling spotlights worked, and hallway light leaked through the door’s glass panel, disturbing our sleep. Our stay was further marred by people: the first night a man opened our door, didn’t apologise and lingered in the doorway despite us shouting at him to leave; later, clothes we’d hung out to dry in the courtyard were torn by two stray dogs that roamed around, even though we’d been told we could use a drying rack. On the second night, around 12:30 am loud music blared from a car parked outside our window, and my partner was even spat on through the glass before the car drove off. At 2 am someone kept pounding on our window. Our room faced the street and the hotel entrance, so we constantly heard doors slamming and other guests talking. In short, if you need a quiet place, stay elsewhere or specifically request a room far from the entrance.
