Reuniting with the long‑time staff is always a delight, though I wish the front desk staff were a little friendlier. The hot spring water had become a bit weak, which is disappointing but understandable. However, soaking while watching the sunset felt heavenly.

The location was great, and the food was good, but the smell of the eel in the Japanese dish was disappointing.

The hot spring was at just the right temperature and I could relax quietly. The room had hard chairs, no soft sofa, and the door lock was difficult to open. The TV was hard to see unless I sat on the bed, so the room wasn’t very relaxing.

The scenery of Kusatsu Kogen was magnificent. However, the place was not clean and the cleaning was inadequate.

I’ve been visiting here intermittently for 20 years. The facilities and food were satisfactory, and the location is unbeatable. Nothing in particular to complain about.
