I really liked the room. It was traditional, which was really nice, and reminded me of an old family home in good condition—different from a mass‑produced hotel. It had a lot of character, and you could walk around the gardens at the back for fresh air in the evening if needed. Right among the hills, it was a lovely break from city life, exactly what I was after, and reasonably priced. Don’t expect a 4‑star hotel with a swimming pool and spa, but the place has a lot of charm and a lot to offer for the price. It was actually quite an interesting place to stay in, with a lot of history if you take a brief look around the grounds.

“Lovely peaceful place to stay”

Very peaceful, the surrounding area around the property was kept really nice. It was lovely to see the wildlife. The views from the windows were beautiful. Walking around outside and sitting in the garden was lovely.

Beautiful location, large parking area that felt very safe for leaving your car (which you can still keep an eye on from most windows) great service and the room (Hafren) looked and felt grand with timeless decor, comfortable 4‑poster bed, tea/coffee making facilities and an adequate bathroom. Breakfast was perfect. The Forest B&B will absolutely be my first choice when next returning to mid‑Wales and the Newtown Area. Newtown itself is about a 6‑8 minute drive from the B&B.

“Peaceful stay in beautiful welsh border country”

Set in remote countryside a large spacious property surrounded by woods and fields. It has clearly seen better days: the room we were shown into was smaller than expected but quiet and comfortable
