Uni Hotel Jeju

The surroundings were awesome, and the glass house next to the hotel entrance had a great vibe. The shower room’s glass door wouldn’t close, and the entire glass partition leaked water; I had to use a lot of towels to soak up the floor water before I could keep using the bathroom, and those towels were guest towels, which was unhygienic. On the first day I requested a room change, but because of overbooking there was no replacement. The next day after returning from a trip I asked again; finally a room was found, I happily moved in with my luggage, but the bathroom was exactly the same, so I moved through three rooms, and there were no more rooms to swap. I ended up back in my original room, paying for an extra night 😭 The shower leak is probably due to aging and lack of maintenance; many guests have complained, and housekeeping is aware that guests need to use a lot of towels to absorb water, yet the management hasn’t addressed it, ruining the guest experience 😤 The room rate is also very high, low value for money, even during the Mid-Autumn holiday, it’s not worth it!

I couldn’t eat the meal. When checking in, the staff said they couldn’t verify the reservation under my name, which was absurd.

“Extremely Dirty Hotel and Terrible Customer Service — Would Not Recommend”

The location and view were fine. The hotel was extremely dirty and the customer service was terrible, so I would not recommend it. The biggest problem was the cleanliness, especially the bathrooms. The bathroom was filthy and frankly gross. We were so uncomfortable that we specifically asked the staff to clean it again. Even after pointing out the issue, the bathroom was not properly cleaned, which was extremely disappointing and unacceptable for a hotel. The hotel also seemed to lack basic supplies and amenities. We asked for extra toilet paper, but none was available. We also asked for extra pillows or blankets, and they were not provided either. What was especially upsetting was the blanket situation. My brother got sick during our stay and was feeling very cold, so we asked the hotel for an additional blanket. Instead of simply giving one to a sick guest, they charged us about $30 for an extra blanket. I have stayed at many hotels and never experienced something like this, especially for such a basic request. The customer service made the whole experience even worse. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and showed very little concern when we brought these issues to their attention. We were not making unreasonable requests—we were asking for a clean bathroom, toilet paper, and basic bedding. At the very least, I would have expected the staff to try to resolve the problems or show some concern for their guests. Jeju is beautiful and there are many other accommodations to choose from. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

“바다뷰는 기만이었다”

The nearby cafes and restaurants (convenience facilities) were good. I chose the room with a sea view, but the cafe blocked the window (room 218), so it wasn’t a sea view at all 😭. When I entered the room, the air conditioner wasn’t on, the air was too hot, so I ran straight to the cafe. In the evening, the AC made noise, so I couldn’t sleep properly. I left the hotel exhausted. When checking out, the AC was being inspected before 11 pm, which was not pleasant either.

The staff were very friendly, the facilities were clean, and during my stay the housekeeping and towel service were excellent. The breakfast was delicious, neat, and the dishes were cleaned up afterward, making my stay very comfortable.
