The hotel is stylish with thoughtful design, an amazing view from the pool to the two cliffs, luxurious and spacious rooms, and an especially comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner are tasty and varied, the gym is large and well equipped, and the staff are friendly. The hotel sits on a very large area, so walking a bit between the rooms, pool, restaurant, and lobby can be a bit long; it didn’t bother us, but it might for older guests.

Aliya resort was an incredible hotel! First, the pool was spectacular—a gigantic infinity pool with an amazing view of Sigiriya rock and the jungle. Second, the staff were amazing, going out of their way to ensure we had the best stay possible; special shoutout to Sampath, who was so friendly and anticipated our every need, and to the activity organizers who helped us in the gym and on the cricket ground. Third, the grounds were great, featuring a big cricket ground, 2 pools, a badminton court, a volleyball court, table tennis, pottery, and paper recycling. The food was so good, both the buffets and the à la carte were amazing! The location was also great, only a short drive to Habarana or Sigiriya for dinner or just to visit. Lastly, the rooms were amazing and comfortable, with 2 floors and comfy beds. Thank you so much Aliya resort for making our stay so incredible!

The service was great, the room was clean, and the view was nice. Why are the bathrooms in the rooms without AC? That’s annoying.

A super beautiful hotel right in nature and a great starting point for activities in Sigiriya and the surrounding area. Totally nice and courteous staff. A lovely room and a calm vibe. We also liked that every morning at 06:30, free morning yoga was offered, and the breakfast buffet was really good. We didn’t use the hotel dinner; we went to two nearby local restaurants (about 3‑5 minutes walking) where we ate very cheaply and really well (VIBE Hut & Sandu Coolspot)—both are highly recommended and worth the short walk. The view from the hotel pool is amazing! The only downside was that there were relatively few umbrellas at the hotel pool, but there were never many people, so it worked out fine.
