Every staff member was phenomenal, making the stay very comfortable and memorable. I would have liked a later check‑out; 10 am is reasonable but I wanted a bit more time. It would be nice to offer larger yukata for bigger foreign guests, though the selection was generally good.

The baths were fantastic, especially the open‑air one, and the location near the stone‑step street was convenient; breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The only drawback was that dust had built up on the blind curtains, which felt a bit off‑putting.

Being offered cold tea and a rice cake at check‑in was a pleasant surprise after climbing the stairs, but the air‑conditioner smelled of mold so we stopped using it, and the bathroom also gave off a similar odor. I considered asking for a room change but didn’t. The view turned out to be the opposite hotel rather than a mountain view. The breakfast buffet, which had drawn good reviews and was a reason we chose this place, served sliced banana in ice water and lacked many fresh items; many dishes like tempura and meatballs seemed more suited to dinner than breakfast.
