Tamar Valley Resort Grindelwald

I love this place and have stayed here many times in the last 20 years. Reception staff are great. Always happy to see you and room service staff lovely and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was beautiful. Sadly I won’t be back as the staff in the restaurant are rude, lazy and condescending. We ordered cocktails and there was only a few people in there as our dinner booking was 530. 15 minutes later they hadn’t even started on our drinks as they obviously very busy gossiping. When we ordered the girl goes this is expensive you know. Not by my standards and it was said in a very condescending way. We were wearing flannelette shirts as we were off to the rodeo so I guess she just assumed we were bogans. Not a good experience at all. The staff were awful!

Great family‑friendly accommodation. Rooms were pleasant, and the basketball and tennis courts were a family favourite. The evening we stayed a large group attended the indoor pool along with 4‑5 other individual family groups. People were jumping in fully clothed, there was up to 10 in the spa causing it to overflow. Maybe limits in small spaces? The pool was definitely overcrowded. It was unsafe so we left shortly after and went back to our room. The next day numbers were smaller so we enjoyed the space with our children.

I stayed in a lovely Swiss village that was quiet, clean, and had great staff, and it was close to a beautiful park.

“I would not recommend the bed was awful”

The pool area was unclean and rundown The waitress dropped some of my child’s dinner and did nothing to fix it she suggested that she share another child’s nuggets. We arrived to breakfast at 9:15 closing is 10 there was basically no hot food left we were charged full price for a ransacked buffet extremely dissatisfied
