Nouvelle Classe Hotel

When the temperature hit 40°, the hotel had been told my approximate arrival time, yet the air‑conditioning was not even running to cool the room, no bath towels were available, and I had to bring my own fan for my dog because it was so hot that sleeping was difficult; oddly the hotel seemed almost empty, and for breakfast the staff who cut the bread didn’t allow us to toast slices or use sliced bread; the hotel should install insulating blinds or shutters so rooms aren’t a furnace and fix the very noisy air‑conditioning; the furnace in the room was on because the AC hadn’t been switched on before I entered, and I had to ask for towels.

“Il faut faire un peu des efforts pour améliorer. J’avais vu le bâtiment, je m’en doutais un peu.”

The toilets leaked and the noise was disturbing, especially at night; the leak was in the wall, not the bowl, and the modern installation needs some work. The floor was a bit damaged in the corners, dusty, and the small tablet should be replaced. When we arrived, there were no toilet towels, so we had to ask for them. The reception, bed, and blanket check were okay for one night; the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.

The staff were quick to respond and the hotel was quiet, but the room’s location didn’t match the email confirmation from the hotel. The shower had limescale buildup, the sink tap was unsuitable, and there were no towels. The hotel’s upkeep was very poor.

The location was fine, but the building felt old‑fashioned, the exterior doors weren’t watertight, the door bottoms were rusty, and the mattresses were low‑quality; I don’t see what the name change added.
