Shared Room at Lockhart Road 414

“No tiene ninguna ventilación, días de casi 40 grados de térmica 😞”

The place is in a good spot, clean, and has a nice bathroom and full kitchen. The room feels stuffy because there is no fan. Although the listing says there is no window or AC and the description offers a fan that isn’t there, and despite my repeated requests, it wasn’t replaced in a week. The responses made me feel very bad, so I’m sharing the screenshots of the messages when I asked for what was advertised. Also, the room is very small; I’m 1.70 m tall and had to sleep on my side.

“I’ll definitely book it again when I come back to HK!”

The apartment had been renovated, was clean and comfortable. I had the perfect space to work and keep my suitcase. I liked that it was in a very convenient area, and even though it was my first time in HK, the location made my trip very easy. It’s not about the place itself, but more about us as users from different countries; I would highlight the trash disposal. I tried to do it every night, but if I forgot, the other roommates didn’t care. Maybe signing the rules after reading them could strengthen this. I had the impression that because we had cleaning staff, they weren’t supposed to do chores, but it’s our home, not a 5‑star hotel.

“Complicated”

The service was poor, the place wasn’t clean, it was too small, and the equipment was bad.

The location was fine. Everything else was awful. The bed was smaller than my height (181 cm), dirty, and the dust or mold triggered my allergies. I also felt very cold; I asked for an extra blanket or heater but they didn’t have one. Because of the dust or mold allergy, I booked another place right away.

“Feeling betrayed!”

The location and bed were good, and the room size was decent. It was actually a nice shared flat at a comparable price if the owner paid more attention to details, like cleaning the fridge, doing laundry, and providing a light with a plug for Hong Kong— not USA B U T! I was extremely upset that they gave me a room I hadn’t booked. I had booked the “deluxe room with seaview” in Lockhard Road 414, but instead I got a room with a view of apartment blocks in Lockhard Road 384‑388. They said it was a mistake because 414 is for female only. Very strange, as I can see reviews from men for that room here. 384‑388 isn’t mentioned, nor that 414 is female only. So for me it felt like a customer catch‑and‑release; after complaining I got at least one night for free, but I still feel betrayed. It seemed intentional because of some shady business.
