Yuki‑san is a wonderful person—warm and makes you feel at home, caring for us like her own children. Thank you! My room was close to the toilet, and I could hear people at night.

First, the lady is super kind, energetic, funny, and helpful—making the experience excellent! She drove me to various places in the car during my stay. Dinner is included; it’s traditional, delicious, and very filling. Breakfast costs just €3 and is also very filling. The room is traditional style, with a very comfortable bed. Everything is very clean. The bathroom is a typical Japanese style, and you can take a Japanese bath. The only downside is there’s no heating in the toilet 🙂 Also, it’s a bit out of the way; there are buses, but I didn’t take them.

The food was perfect, especially the mother’s room, and it incorporated a lot of local seafood wonderfully. Since the host originally ran a boarding house before switching to a lodging facility, it felt like I was back at home during my student days. The bath was given to me, but it was ridiculously hot. Do Hokkaido people always take such hot baths? Or do they pre‑heat it to a high temperature because they don’t know when they’ll use it?
