The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful, but the room could have been cleaner; there were dirty barefoot prints on the walls near the door and the whole room needed a wipe down.

I liked the stay overall, but paying for parking was super annoying; expecting guests to pay for parking in your own lot feels off, especially when you have plenty of owned spots. I’ll look for free parking next time.

“Good property not far from Charleston”

Overall, a good Hampton Inn. The guest ambassador, Matt, was very helpful and friendly, as were the receptionists when we checked in and out. The property meets Hampton Inn standards, and the breakfast was fine. However, there is a parking app, and the motel asks for a parking fee. Since the motel is inexpensive, it isn’t a major concern, but I was a bit surprised because Hampton Inn is the first motel to charge a separate parking fee. The point of a motel versus a hotel is the “motor” aspect being more convenient. Hampton Inn’s adoption of a parking app is a major departure from the days of US Route 66. Also, there is an app to tip the cleaning and other staff. I tried to use it, but it insisted on knowing my email address even though identifying information had already been provided to the motel. I have no interest in extra junk email, and I’m sure that if I entered my email, that would have been the result.

“We asked to stay an extra day because I was sick and there was no problem at all.”

The breakfast spread was fantastic, and Eric and Megan were absolutely wonderful. The front desk clerk on the day shift was also great, and my Archie gave it a thumbs up.
