Perfectly situated for my needs
The staff were warm and welcoming
The hotel itself seemed to be stuck in the past, with decor that hadn't been updated since the 80s

“Great location”
The location was great and the building was lovely, though it felt a little dated but still clean.
“Perfectly serviceable but £72 for the night still feels steep with hindsight.”
The front‑desk person who escorted me to my room was friendly and supplied all the details I needed for my stay. The room itself was a decent size, with fresh towels and clean glasses already set out. I did joke with friends that I might have been accidentally cut or electrocuted because the bathroom door only had nail‑style handles, and a light by one bed was broken while a light fixture between the beds had been removed and covered with heavy tape; it seemed safe but uneasy. The hotel’s proximity to central Halifax was overstated, yet a 20‑25 minute bus ride was perfectly fine.
The location was good, staff were friendly and helpful, and the beer garden and bar were nice; a fan was handy in the warm weather. TV reception was poor and could use smart TVs, and the lack of on‑site food might bother some guests.
The location was fine, but the hotel clearly needs modernisation.
“Good for one night stay .”
The room was acceptable, but there was no breakfast offered.
