Location. We didn’t have a great experience. We were traveling with a rental car and booked because the listing said “El San Giácomo offers free parking,” yet after two message exchanges we were told we’d have to pay 20 € per night (see attached photo/screenshot of the listing). Then we were told the central air‑conditioning system didn’t work; however, the “central” system in the room we were assigned was missing. What’s installed is a split unit that doesn’t work. We only found a fan, which allowed us to get through the nights with some relative comfort. They offered beach service, but we were traveling to see Maiori, Minori, Ravello, Amalfi, and Positano, so we didn’t intend to stay on the beach during the day. We were surprised by the bad accumulation of garbage at the building entrance and the neglect inside the building in the space that connects the street access to the elevator. Finally, when we checked out we asked if we had to pay for parking, and they told us we didn’t have to pay anything… we understand that might have been a way to compensate us for the discomfort caused by the lack of air conditioning, given the high temperatures at the location.

The staff at the Francesco hotel were amazing, fixing our air‑con issue in just one day and offering us beach club access and free parking to make up for the inconvenience. The room’s location is great, but the building feels old, the furniture is sparse, the bed sits on a steel frame with an uncomfortable mattress, and the linen and curtains look very dated—small upgrades could make a big difference.
