The parking right across the street was convenient. We booked the loft, but it had no private bathroom, so we had to go out onto the terrace, cross a hall, cross the kitchen, go through the entrance hall, and then access the shared bathroom. Imagine having an urgent need and the bathroom being occupied or having to go out in the middle of the night. The TV had no selected channels, only YouTube was available. There was no coat rack, and the outlets were just enough for the devices there, none near the bed. Cleaning was mediocre. I was quite disappointed.

The positives were the location on the Santiago route, a washing machine, and two large kitchens. After checking in, I immediately found the bedding wet. The outlet placement was very inconvenient; I had to move the bed to use them. The sound insulation was terrible. There were a lot of people, giving the feeling we were in an ant colony. It was noisy. The booking listed a coffee machine I could use, but at breakfast I discovered there were no capsules, which upset me. When I asked staff, they said the coffee was finished and didn’t help. One of the worst options on the Santiago route.

They changed my room. I paid for a reservation and arrived earlier than others, but they gave me the worst room possible. I’m not the type to complain, but this room had broken window shutters, a broken door lock, it was cold, the sheet was dirty, the pillow smelled. The shared bathroom lock was broken and the handle was smashed. The kitchen was openly dirty and had almost no utensils. I contacted the manager directly and they swapped my room.

“Günstige Pilgerunterkunft am Jakobsweg”

A cheap accommodation on the Jakobsweg, just a few minutes from the harbor where the taxi boats to Spain depart. The rustic kitchen was nice and there were three washing machines with detergent. After reading many bad reviews I expected worse, but every floor had a renovated bathroom. Despite the many rooms and guests, no one was there to greet you or explain the house. It’s not the Ritz, but it’s cheap and clean.
