Metropole Katoomba is a 1930s‑style guesthouse in central Katoomba, opposite Kingsford Smith Park and minutes from the Three Sisters and Scenic Railway. Rooms feature TV, minibar and heating. Guests enjoy a library with a cosy fire, a lounge with pool table and games, an on‑site restaurant, Jessie's Lounge, bar and café. Walking distance to the railway station and shopping centre.

The communal spots—library, games room, dining room—were fantastic, giving the place a charming old‑school feel. The rooms, however, were basic and cramped.

It sits right near the station and restaurants, with bus stops including a ‘Hop on hop off’ line close by. I appreciated the original architecture and stained‑glass windows, and the bedroom was very comfortable with good heating and cooling. The café was good. The front door is reached by steep stairs.
