The new hotel offered a corner room with a beautiful view, close enough to the city yet very quiet. The rooms lack soundproofing, there’s no elevator and the staff had to carry everything. I know the place is new among boutique hotels, so soundproofing should be added. The young staff lingered during meals; hopefully they’ll receive training in these matters.

The staff were constantly friendly and eager to meet any request, even arranging extra breakfast items for the next morning whenever we asked. The walk to the centre is 2.3 km uphill on a street that feels unsafe after dark, but the hotel arranged a great tuk‑tuk driver who always took us for just €1.50. Unfortunately, the coffee at breakfast tasted more like tea, even when we specifically ordered it “extra strong”.
