Located 30 m from Tiradentes Square, Pousada do Mondego occupies a 17th‑century colonial building and belongs to the Roteiros de Charme collection. Panoramic city views, free Wi‑Fi, and rooms featuring furniture and Aleijadinho, Guignard, and Marquetti art—some with balconies—are offered. Guests receive Minas Gerais breakfast, satellite TV, minibar, free parking, and walk to São Francisco de Assis Church, Nossa Senhora do Carmo Church, and Inconfidência Museum.

Location and cleanliness were good, but if you need a hair dryer you have to get it at reception, there is no room service for meals or snacks. The inn should offer a touch of charm like a “welcome” or a small surprise in the room for the night, those details that make a difference. The breakfast was basic.

The location, parking and cleanliness were perfect. Reception staff and the gentleman who helped with the luggage were also great. Breakfast had a delay in restocking cutlery, glasses and plates, and some staff seemed impatient. The room had no air conditioning, only a ceiling fan, so I felt the value didn’t meet my expectations. We arrived around 20:00 and had to look for the entrance/ reception on the street. Entry is through a gate that is locked and the intercom isn’t very visible; I had to call the hotel to find out where the entrance was.

Artwork, paintings, antiques and beautiful furniture fill every room and can all be purchased! I loved the room, very pretty and cozy! Comfortable mattress, new soft sheets. Two little balconies overlooking the city and a central location next to the Church of São Francisco de Assis. Spacious bathroom with L’occitane amenities! Breakfast was delicious with freshly scrambled eggs and individual mugs of milk and coffee at each table. Parking was ample and safe. The owner, Dona Ondina, was extremely kind and welcoming and gave us a full tour of the inn. I liked everything!

The spot is amazing and the house is gorgeous, plus the staff are super dedicated! The breakfast is decent but could use some improvement.

The historic building is well maintained and the location is great. Some staff show a level of attention far below what one would expect, with a lack of willingness in their service.
