“Great host who also really looks after the property. I’d recommend to stay there, might next to the Medina”

The front street is noisy even at night, with garbage trucks passing in the middle of the night; there is an air conditioner in the room but no remote control; a hair dryer is listed but not actually in the room; the bathroom shower is broken and leaks about half the hose; there is no Wi‑Fi, no breakfast information, or any other guidance.

Everything about the place pleased us, especially the staff. Owner Tarik was very friendly and shared a lot with us; Manager Mohamed took great care of our well‑being, checking on us several times a day; a friend of ours who had complained about another accommodation was welcomed with open arms, given tea and coffee by Mohamed, and we had many great conversations; I have never felt so comfortable in a lodging before. The two terraces were very comfortable and offered a wonderful view of the city. I’m truly sad that we have to leave and hope to return soon. Mirjam and Julian

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An address we recommend with our eyes closed! We stayed from 29 July to 2 August and had an excellent stay at Hotel Sakura. The location is perfect: the medina is less than a minute’s walk away. Everything is reachable on foot, with several restaurants right next to the hotel and a good breakfast spot at the base. The rooms are clean, functional, and air‑conditioned, a real delight given the hot weather in Chefchaouen. Towels are supplied and housekeeping is available on request. What really sets it apart is the hotel manager—a truly exceptional person, always smiling, available, caring, and attentive. He immediately put us at ease and gave us valuable tips to discover a more authentic Chefchaouen, away from the most touristy spots. He even offered to wash and dry our clothes without asking for anything in return; these small gestures make all the difference. The stah (roof terrace) was a real highlight; we shared tea prepared by the manager there and spent long moments chatting about his life, history, and Moroccan culture. Those memories will stay with us for a long time. Our son Lyam also loved his stay; every evening he met the neighborhood kids to play football on the square, and the manager always watched over him with great kindness, which touched us deeply. The day before we left, we struggled to find a parking spot; the manager immediately found one right next to the hotel so we could leave calmly the next morning. Frankly, he’s always on top of things!
