The staff were incredibly friendly and handed out loads of hiking advice, speaking both Chinese and English. Even though the hotel is only about 30 m from the main shopping street, it stayed surprisingly quiet, and the rooms were clean. All in all it was a very pleasant base for exploring Baisha and heading into the Yulong Mountains.

A huge thank‑you to the lady owner for all her tips and for actually taking us on a walk around Baisha Ancient Town, letting us see the local life up close. She also helped us rent an electric bike, which gave the whole trip a lot more depth.

The view from the room is fantastic – you can see the 5,600‑metre‑high Yulong Xueshan right outside the window.

The location is solid, and rooms on the second and third floors even give you a view of Jade Dragon Mountain.
