“So much potential but needs a proper renovation”
The reception staff were always friendly and helpful, breakfast was fairly good, and the hairdryer was great. I asked for a softer pillow and was given a nice one, and the beds were relatively comfortable. However, it seems the room was only halfheartedly renovated; the photos show a modern headboard, lights, and wardrobe doors, but in reality the lighting is poor with only two single bedside spotlights and one above the desk, and no ceiling lights. There are only two single plug sockets in the entire room, which is insufficient for charging three phones, a toothbrush, a blow dryer, etc. The balcony door is so old it doesn't slide open properly and needs a good heave to close; the balcony itself is old, faded, and not clean enough—towels and swimwear had to be hung there to dry and they got dirty. No attention to detail with the paintwork. The aircon had to be set to 16 degrees to feel cool. The bathroom was the worst; it appears to be the same bathroom that was first installed when the building was built, probably over 20 years ago, and is in desperate need of renovation. The grout on the tiles needed cleaning, the ceiling was mouldy, the bath was stained, and there was nowhere to put your stuff; there was also no full-length mirror.
