“Utterly stunning location and fabulous property”

We stayed at the end of August’s heat wave, close to Loch Tay where we were competing, so we booked this place for convenience. The moment we walked through the front door, the wow factor hit us; it’s beautifully appointed and very spacious, with three large bedrooms, two en‑suite and another bathroom. The lounge‑diner is stunning, offering views over the lake, and the dining table that turns into a pool table is a nice touch. The kitchen comes with a full‑size fridge‑freezer, microwave and conventional oven. A balcony stretches the full length of the property, overlooking the lake, where we saw ducks, a heron and a field of reindeer. The property is remote, so nightlife isn’t nearby, but Aberfeldy and Pitlochry are the nearest towns, each with a large co‑op and a slightly smaller one, plus rapid EV chargers in both. The drive to them is through absolutely breathtaking scenery. While there we swam in three lochs: Loch Tay, Loch Tummel and Loch Faskally. We took a boat trip from Fort William around Seal Island with great views of Ben Nevis, and also rode the steam train from Fort William to Mallaig (the Harry Potter train), which you have to book online in advance. In short, the property is utterly fabulous, the location serene and the surrounding areas beyond words—just utterly breathtaking. We had an absolutely fabulous break there and will be back. A minor suggestion: an EV charger point at the property would be cool.

“Great Lodge and Location but in need of updating”

There’s a lot of space inside the lodge and the location is amazing. The pool table under the dining table is a great bonus that wasn’t advertised and should be mentioned. The lodge is starting to look worn and tired, needing updates. Kitchen benches and cupboards are damaged, the dishwasher and extractor fan were broken during our stay, the fridge‑freezer barely worked, dining chairs were falling apart and upholstery staples were coming through seat cushions, and the exterior needs cleaning.

“A lovely stay in a beautiful location. The accommodation was excellent!”

The lodge is very large, very well equipped and comfortable. The only downside is the sporadic internet connection.

The location is incredible. Waking up to such a beautiful view every morning is wonderful. Everything was fantastic. The only drawback: the bedding in the master bedroom could use a small refresh.
