Breakfast was good and the water was warm. The isolation was poor—every step on the floor above could be heard. At night we were woken by other people’s footsteps, and in the morning the phone in another room vibrated. The shower cabin was dirty, and there was no hook to hang the showerhead, so we had to hold it while washing. Communication with the owners was weak. Even though we had arranged a specific arrival time, no one was there and we couldn’t reach the lady owner. Eventually we happened to meet the male owner, who wasn’t aware of our arrival, but after about fifteen minutes he let us in.

The view of Szczeliniec is nice. Parking is comfortable. It’s just over 1 km to Karłow center and the nearest restaurant (there’s a convenient forest path along the road). The narrow, poorly lit stairs are dark during the day (they only light up at night); installing a motion sensor and automatic lighting might help. The owners are responsive and practical, but they make you feel like a client rather than a guest at a family inn.
