The location in front of the river is amazing. The room service and arrangements for guests were lacking.

The place is very well located: by the Bentota lagoon, 5 minutes from the beach (by boat across the lagoon), just a 2‑minute walk to a supermarket, KFC, Pizza Hut, and close to Aluthgama town centre. I didn’t like that there was no “bar” or light‑meal service. The hotel has a room that could be used for that (kitchen, etc.) and its clientele come for water activities. The staff’s nonchalance—just cleaning the garden and watching equipment deteriorate—was noticeable, as in many Sri Lankan establishments.

The kitchen staff were friendly. Despite an earlier check‑in promise, nobody was there initially; only after our driver honked several times did someone arrive. The room wasn’t clean at all: dead cockroaches and used toothpicks in the toilet bin, mold in the bathroom, inadequate furnishings, and spider webs. We stayed only about six hours with three people and had to pay half the booking price on departure. We still haven’t received a proper invoice.
