“Very special”
The location was truly special, staying in a real castle! The renovation was gorgeous, preserving the old style while updating the furniture, which is huge and beautiful. The hosts were lovely, and the host Lee shared a lot of history and his plans for the castle. Breakfast was fantastic, with scrambled eggs, bread, toast, and other items daily. For a longer stay, I would have liked German bread rolls with cheese, ham, and bacon. The bathroom in the Kings Room was excellent, whereas the Queens Room's bathroom was acceptable and will get a modern makeover. We stayed in both the Kings Room and the Queens Room, and I preferred the Kings Room. The Queens Room had a moldy smell because the castle is old, and it seemed unavoidable. The Kings Room had no odor. When using the toilet at night, it’s better to wear slippers in the hallway; the floor is natural stone, so I had to put my shoes on in both rooms.
