We had to book a last‑minute stay because of a car breakdown, so we appreciated the very friendly reception. The front desk employee greeted us warmly, explained everything in detail, and even offered us entrance tickets to the castle, which we couldn’t use due to our short stay—a nice gesture. The breakfast was especially good, with a wide selection and high quality that left us fully satisfied. The staff gave us a relaxed, stress‑free impression. Overall, the hotel was fine for our short stay, with the friendly reception and excellent breakfast standing out. The room was quite small and faced the street, so it was a bit noisy when the window was open; acceptable for one night but too tight for a longer stay. We also missed a few small amenities: a kettle with a selection of tea and coffee is now standard in many hotels, and a small sweet treat would have made the stay more pleasant. What really annoyed me was the situation at the bar around 22:50 pm when I tried to order a beer. The staff member told me he finished work at 23:00 pm and his overtime wouldn’t be paid, so instead of pouring me a beer he directed me to a vending machine in the hallway. I’ve never seen that in a hotel. I understand staff want to finish on time, but directing a guest to a vending machine ten minutes before closing is unwelcoming, especially with the excuse of unpaid overtime—internal matters shouldn’t be used as a justification for guests. The price of about €173 for two people for one night, including breakfast and city tax, seemed high given the room size and amenities. It was a shame, because we had a good impression of the hotel; a few small upgrades in room amenities and more hospitality at the bar would have made the stay much more positive.
