The staff were very friendly and the lunch was good, but the place feels like a faded glory. It’s huge and grand, yet empty. The rooms weren’t clean; a dead, dried‑out gecko was stuck to the wall and dust and spider webs were tucked between the paintings above the bed. Mold appeared in the bathroom. Overall it was just worn out. We checked in, had lunch, and then left.

I booked last minute after a horrible stay elsewhere and discovered a real gem. The open design, manicured gardens, and rural setting near the sea were beautiful. I only regret missing the chance to dive with them. The only issue was a bit of TLC needed, especially cleaning the two ponds by the entrance, but otherwise everything was lovely.
