A quiet spot between forest and a small mountain creek, with a swimming pool. Breakfast features organic local produce and the air is crisp and fresh. If you dislike the scent of freshly cut grass, sheep, and cattle grazing, this isn’t for you.

I was blown away by the stay at Pensiunea "La Nenea Iancu" in Pianu de Sus! The host was incredibly welcoming, serving authentic local treats made right in the family’s kitchen, with fresh garden vegetables that added extra flavor to our visit. We appreciated the open sharing of local stories and valuable tips about the Via Transilvanica trail we’d be biking. The vibe was relaxed, and the host’s company was not only pleasant but inspiring. The location is perfect—quiet, safe, just outside the village—ideal for anyone seeking a genuine rest spot in nature. We were also thrilled to find plenty of parking, a detail that made both arrival and departure smooth. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic, calm, and warm experience in a welcoming community. We’ll definitely come back!

We trekked the Via Transilvanica and the tips from Nenea Iancu helped us manage our energy for the next day’s 30 km hike. He also shared history about the area and surrounding villages. The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom large. The food was good quality, mostly from the garden. A perfect spot for Via Transilvanica travelers.
