“One night”

I enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly, but the shower left something to be desired.

The location was great, the pub was nice, and the room was fantastic; everything I needed was there, but I only stayed one night because the hotel was fully booked and I had to find another place that wasn’t as good. The Waverly Inn staff were friendly and helpful, and I liked the breakfast. The only downside was that the shower in my room wasn’t very powerful, but otherwise I had a good stay.

The spot was convenient and parking was easy; my room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The food and beer offered good value, and the breakfast was great (extra £). Bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper, since there were other guests next door and a pub above. It took a while to get hot water, though a sign was there.

“Had a great night's sleep, pillows and bed very comfortable. Had everything we needed”

We couldn’t have breakfast because we had to pick other people up to catch the ferry, but tea, coffee, water, and all the toiletries we needed were lovely, including the white bedding and towels. The wardrobe was a blessing with plenty of hangers and an ironing board.

“Below expectations”

The staff were friendly and helpful. The meal in the bar was awful—overcooked, dried‑up chicken. The bedroom had a strange smell and there was no hairdryer, a basic need for a £90 B&B. The shower was appalling, barely any flow, a tiny spray, mounted oddly, and difficult to wash because almost no water came out. The bedding was clean and the room was a good size.
