This small, unpretentious guesthouse is fantastic! The furniture looks secondhand, but given the price, no one expects a 4‑star experience. What’s great is that everything is well thought out: there’s a little space for everything, neither too small nor too big—a wardrobe for clothes, a small fridge, two plates, two glasses, cutlery, and a small shelf as a pantry. The shower is neither too small nor too big, with enough room to put a soap bar on the rim, etc. The luggage storage, brand‑new air conditioning (ch11), and the little touches are all taken care of. The downside is the solar water heater: when the weather is nice, you get hot water; when it’s not, it’s cooler. The location is a double‑edged sword: we’re so close to the most lively part of La Cannée that we can be disturbed by noise early at night; personally it didn’t bother me, but if you have a light sleep, it can be an issue.

Castle Inn feels like a warm hug in a bustling town that can feel a bit impersonal. Its spot is perfect—right in the heart of the city yet tucked onto a quiet street. The owner was quick to respond and made sure our room was ready as soon as we stepped in. The hostess greeted us warmly and checked that we had everything we needed. The room came stocked with extra pillows, toothbrushes, a kettle, cups, coffee, a wine opener, a fridge, and more. Compared to other Chania spots I visited four years ago, this place really stands out, and I’d give it a solid recommendation. It’s great value for money in a pricey city. I couldn’t find anything to complain about—truly a fantastic experience.

The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the old town amid historic ruins, just a two‑minute walk from the port and the mosque. The street itself is very quiet; the neighboring streets buzz with nightlife, but the apartments stay calm. The rooms are lovely and cozy, each with its own toilet and shower, a small fridge, an electric kettle, a corkscrew, and a snug balcony. Little touches for guests—shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, a hygiene set, and even dental floss—made a pleasant surprise. A very friendly lady welcomed us. The building is two stories; we stayed on the second floor, reached by atmospheric stairs that feel almost magical. There were no major drawbacks, just the parking situation: the nearest free spot is about 400–500 meters away. We left our car there first and then headed to the apartment. If you’re traveling with a lot of luggage, plan for that in advance.
