“Dissappointing”
The narrow boat was chosen because of its location near Lincoln town centre, close to shopping, pubs and restaurants. The owner answered my calls promptly and arranged to be present when we arrived. It was a little difficult to access the boat with limited parking spaces. Getting on the boat with luggage was awkward, having to carry the bags over a narrow quayside and then into the boat itself. I have stayed on many boats, and I am familiar with the limitations of space, particularly a narrow boat. The boat itself was cluttered with lots of stuff we didn't need. Secure storage was very limited. My biggest problem was the toilet and washing facilities. The toilet was 'flushed' by a large bottle of water with a weak electric pump, the nozzle of which overhangs the bowl. The owner advised us to use the toilets in the pub for No 2's. We did not prepare any food onboard but were told the smoke alarms always went off. I cannot believe some previous guests have written such positive reviews; this one is to be avoided.
