“Difficult access, no staff on site, and not as described or expected”

I never stayed overnight. I arrived, opened the room, and left immediately. The approach was a long, narrow gravel path with stairs, hard to manage with heavy luggage after a long drive. There was no front desk or staff on site; it was fully self‑check‑in with the key left in the room, which I hadn’t realized when booking. A strong musty/mold smell filled the room. Afterward, the property claimed I hadn’t checked in even though I had been there and seen the room. I reached out but got no reply. This setup might suit travelers comfortable with fully autonomous accommodation and light luggage, but it was very different from what I expected.

We stayed in a stunning setting; the rooms are a bit small but that’s balanced by our host’s great kindness and the delicious breakfast. The rooms might be small, but the bedding is excellent.
