“Decent place, kinda secluded, easy in and out”

It was great how close the place was to the event venue, yet the lack of other guests felt odd for a family trip, the shower curtain at the bottom was dirty and should have been cleaned or replaced, and the window was left unlocked, raising serious safety concerns.

We adored the motel’s charm, the facilities were solid, and the location was spot on, but mosquitoes were a problem—thanks to bug spray we managed to get through it.

The property, its mid‑century era buildings, spotless and well‑decorated rooms, and the welcoming lobby with complimentary water, coffee, and cookies were all excellent, yet we were surprised by the absence of staff; everything is handled online, a code arrives by email to open the room door, and the room number is also sent that way. As someone who loves chatting with staff or owners to learn about the motel’s history, this was a disappointment, and travelers without a reliable 5G plan might miss the codes and get stuck.

“First experience at Stonewall Motor Lodge”

The room matched Hilton quality—super clean and not looking like a Ray Charles remodel—and the power outlets had USB ports for phone charging, which was handy since I left mine at home, though a microwave would have been nice.
