The Staff was very helpful, and went out of the way to ensure we had all we needed. It was convenient having a 24 hour diner service, and the food was good and cooked fresh quickly. The location was one hour plus out from where our main activities were taking place in Gillette. It made driving back and forth a challenge. However availability was scarce in Gillette and we were grateful that we even found lodging

I was blown away by Dawn, the manager – she made me feel right at home and was super friendly and well‑versed. The place is tucked away in the middle of nowhere on the highway, but it’s peaceful and the room was great. Penny’s Diner runs 24 hrs and is cute. I just wish I could stay longer.

The spot is unbeatable, right on the route from Salt Lake City to the Black Hills of SD. We’ve been here twice now; it’s pretty standard with no fancy amenities, but it’s always clean, functional, and quiet. The staff are very friendly. The bathrooms could use an update someday, and it would be nice if you could enter from the sides of the building instead of just exiting that way.
