A top spot to stay; the green estate sits amid an orange plantation, with stylish, comfortable rooms and domes, and very friendly staff—highly recommended. The public road outside the fence was a challenge because of heavy rain.

This is my third visit to Stellenhof in the past 5 months. That is testimony in and of itself. The estate is beautiful, the rooms and the domes are stylish, clean and comfortable and show exquisite taste. But what makes this establishment stand out above all others is the exceptional hospitality that never disappoints. Maritza the manager is very capable and competent, kind, attentive and caring, organised and always willing to solve any problems or guest wishes with ease and with a smile. She’s the best manager I’ve experienced in the past 3 years and her staff are amazing. The team of 7 extremely hard-working ladies who do everything at the guesthouse with attention to detail and always with the sweetest of smiles and best of wills, from house keeping to even cooking the food and serving the guests. They always go above and beyond and always make you feel like family. I love Stellenhof for the Welcome I get each time - it’s a joy to bring people here and they are always blown away by the beauty of the house and the hospitality that just gets better and better each time. So, thank you Maritza and Yolanda, Noleen, Zoey Dene and Tascha. You all rock!. The property has a pizza oven and an outside grill, but I’ve never experienced either. I have suggested this before and reiterate yet again that Stellenhof should offer one night a week pizza night, so that the pizza oven is on and one can actually have a pizza , and I think it would be fabulous if there was one night a week a braai night. Foreigners would love a traditional South African braai, and it’s actually a meal that the ladies can easily make.As a foreigner I can assure you that You usually only get a braai if you’re invited to someone’s home. So this would be a nice way to be sociable and share your culture and have good food and experience a braai - And it would probably be easy for the ladies to make. I also wish that the footpaths would be extended to the doors of the domes and the paths would be laid across the grass from the entrance gate. Currently you walk on muddy grass as the footpaths are only half finished and not well lit. And considering the owners own a citrus farm with thousands of trees I would love fresh pressed juice ( which Maritza kindly went out of her way and picked some for me and had it pressed which I truly appreciated) and a bowl of fresh home grown fruit freely available and I think you’d have a market for home made citrus Marmelade instead of spar bought jam. I experienced this on another citrus farm nearby where they offered lemon and orange homemade marmalade as for breakfast and it was always delicious and sold out. Honey would also be a plus at breakfast

Stellenhof Country Estate is a beautiful retreat surrounded by endless orange groves and a wonderfully calm atmosphere. The accommodation is superbly equipped, very well maintained, and the entire team was exceptionally friendly and attentive during our stay. A highlight was the food and the freshly squeezed orange juice from the estate’s own groves—there’s no fresher or more authentic experience. The Game Drive in Addo Elephant National Park with Aubrey was unforgettable; his experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm for wildlife made the safari the absolute highlight of our South Africa trip. It was especially impressive how warmly Aubrey was welcomed by the other safari guides—one immediately feels he’s a real institution in the region. He also prepared a braai in the middle of the wilderness that was outstandingly tasty and took the experience to a whole new level. Anyone who can, should not miss a tour with him. We enjoyed our stay completely and would return anytime. The accommodations are more suited to the warm months. While the air conditioning also serves as heating, on cool winter evenings we struggled with humidity in the room and would have liked a bit more warmth and coziness after the game drive. This small point hardly affected our otherwise excellent stay.

It was a very lovely place. The rooms had everything we needed, including an air conditioner, which was great because it was cold. The staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious. It’s a bit far from the main road, requiring travel on a gravel road, but not too bad—any car can get through.
