The hotel sits in a pretty, but very quiet, village. The rooms were small, with a separate bathroom, and a shop nearby closed at 18:00 where you could buy most necessities. Breakfast was good, featuring fresh eggs, pastries, and meats. The hotel sits up a steep hill—watch out if you’re cycling! We didn’t see anyone from the hotel until breakfast, when three staff members arrived; a front‑desk presence would have helped. The bike storage wasn’t where it was advertised, and it took half an hour to locate it. When the restaurant was closed, the hotel offered child‑size portions to heat in a mini‑oven at 25 CHF each—a poor value after a day of cycling; I could have eaten three! Fortunately the shop was open and we made dinner ourselves (otherwise we’d have to go back down the hill to the station and catch a train to a nearby town).
