It was perfect for a one‑night stay during the hiking trip, and the restaurant was very good with friendly staff. The accommodation was very modest, which was fine, but it could use a bit deeper cleaning—there was dog hair on the nightstand that wasn’t from my own dog since it was a different colour.

The location was good and the breakfast was decent. The staff were friendly. The communal bath was clean. However, the rooms were very old with no renovation, featuring very old mattresses and torn sheets that made the rooms feel musty. The walls had carpeting, so there might even be mold underneath.

The place is quiet, the staff are friendly (no issues with late check‑in), the new social rooms are nice, and the price is reasonable. However, some items need replacement, like the sofa in the mezzanine, and you can hear movement from the hallway in the rooms, though that’s just the wooden structure.

The location is great—near the barracks, Makov, Kohútka, and the blueberries. In the evening we had a fire pit, and the night sky was full of stars without light pollution. There’s no luxury, but that’s fine for this type of spot. The cabin is old, so you constantly hear creaks and squeaks from the stairs and beds, but that’s just wood. Otherwise, no complaints.
