A charming old building with flagstone floors and a huge garden around it. Plenty of parking. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, even offering real milk in the fridge for tea or coffee, and the full English breakfast with black pudding is splendid. I was lucky to find such a gem on short notice.

The place looked lovely, but it wasn’t clear from the booking that some facilities, such as the kitchen, were shared, and both pillows on the bed were so thin that I had to fold them over just to get any comfort.

The room was a nice size and having a separate kitchen to cook in was a great bonus, but there was no TV, the bathroom ceiling had a lot of damp stains, there were cobwebs in the room, and large piles of dog poo outside the walk‑out door were a real concern when coming back at night.
