“Relaxing, enjoyable and fun experience”

The location of Tadrai is outstanding: a beautiful sunrise right outside the hotel and a sunset over the hill behind. Great spots for snorkeling. The room was spacious with a lovely bathroom. Dinners were good, the cook adapted to our requests (ask for the fish not to be overcooked) and the staff were overall very nice, welcoming us and bidding farewell with local songs. The only issue was that, despite being rated 5 stars, it really feels like a 4‑star place and is pricey compared to similar spots elsewhere in Fiji – the exceptional location is the only thing that could justify the rating. The attention to detail at all levels was lacking, which matters for this kind of spend. It was hard to figure out what activities were available, and sometimes we felt like we were bothering the staff when asking for something (for example, turning off the country music to enjoy the waves). This wasn’t a universal problem, but 5 stars should come from the little touches and care given to guests. The picnic was much poorer than dinner – the chicken salad was basically mayonnaise chicken with a tiny portion – and I don’t eat much.

“Loved our stay and the staff really made us feel welcome”

The island was gorgeous and the resort’s size—just five villas—kept it from feeling crowded, letting me chat with other guests. The staff were outstanding, always ready to help with a friendly smile, and the food was great; everything was included in the price except massages, so I never had to worry about extra bills. A few minor maintenance issues popped up in our room, but they were fixed quickly or didn’t bother us, and a little extra TLC would make the rooms even more inviting.

Food, excursions, service and overall comfort were phenomenal, and every staff member was incredibly warm, making us feel very comfortable and safe; the outdoor bathroom isn’t for everyone because of the many geckos, but we thought it was great. The cocktails are only served between 17.00‑19.00, so you can’t get one as a dessert or nightcap, although beer and wine are always on hand. The US Survival Team was filming a new season, which meant many islands and areas were closed to tourists.

“Tadrai was Paradise. We were treated as family, not just guests.”

Tadrai was paradise. From the arrival serenade to the farewell ceremony, everything was perfect. Nancy, Rocky, Cassie, Asa, and every other staff member were incredibly kind. The food, activities, and facilities were flawless, and I can’t wait to return someday. The only thing that could have made it even better was staying longer.
