I booked without breakfast, but the lobby had a fridge for guests and a free espresso machine that required some learning to refill and empty the grounds. On day one only the machine was present; by day two there were cups, sugar, and an extra water bottle. Later someone unplugged the 3‑prong outlet, turning the fridge off. The room wasn’t cleaned—no trash emptied, no vacuuming, no beds made. I blamed myself for not attaching the “please tidy up” sign to the door handle, yet nothing changed the next day; staff told me that for a three‑night short stay that wouldn’t happen. I wanted to watch morning news on the big TV, but the menu was confusing and an employee didn’t know the layout. I happened to find Joyn by chance.

“Niet boeken en uit Booking.com verwijderen.”

Nothing was good – the shower stayed cold and never warmed up, there was no staff member to turn to, the room looked shabby and both the shower and toilet were dirty, breakfast arrived late, was barely edible and far too pricey at €12,00.

“Sehr unpersönlich”

We never heard back from the host – my emails sent through the booking site and directly on the website were ignored, and because we were travelling with two dogs that we had mentioned, we almost ended up without the room we had paid for.

The value for money was excellent, and the host happily fulfilled special requests. For the price everything was great, except the rooms were a bit dated.
