“Ottima posizione ma si può evitare la colazione”

The strategic position at the gates of the historic center, just steps from restaurants and cafés, was appealing, and the décor was understated and welcoming, even in the common areas. The breakfast was very basic, the sink in the bathroom was tiny—more of a washbasin than a sink—and the shower stall was of poor quality, constantly falling apart and requiring constant vigilance. The shower water temperature was reversed, hot with cold and vice versa (in short, the plumbing definitely needs fixing). There was no wardrobe due to the small room, which was marketed as a double but is really only 14 m², so it was definitely a single room being sold as a double, as is common practice.

I loved the location, comfort, and cleanliness, but the staff didn't communicate well— they only sent me the keys to enter after I had already reached the building where the room is.

“Clean and good location, shared amenities with no cooking access”

The location was great and the amenities were good, but we didn’t realize it was a shared property with a shared kitchen and that cooking there was prohibited. That would have influenced our decision, so the listing should make that clearer.

The location is nice, right in the center of Salerno, and there’s a small morning buffet with some cookies. Before we arrived, we contacted the host about our arrival time. She approved it and asked us to message her as soon as we got there so she could open the main entrance door for us. We arrived 10 minutes early and waited another 30 minutes with no response. She finally replied after two hours, offering no apology. The room smelled bad, the AC didn’t help, the bed cover wasn’t clean, and we weren’t given blankets.
