The hotel’s location was what drew us back last year, and the four‑day stay at Mistral made us want to return this fall. Being older, we appreciated the vintage vibe, classic furniture, and muted color palette with gold accents that didn’t feel tacky. The staff were friendly and spoke Romanian pleasantly, so language was no issue. The sparkling linens, towels, and hearty, tasty breakfast made us plan to come back next year.

The location was good. Inside the room there was a strong cigarette smell, and the outdoor balcony chairs were made of metal mesh that fell off in places, scratching me hard enough to damage a pair of pants. I paid for three people, yet the towels and bathrobes were only for two, and there were no single-use slippers at all. For a four‑star hotel, we expected far more; with a little leniency I’d give it three stars.

The hotel is elegant, well maintained, and the location is good. There is a bit of noise from nearby bars and shops, and the staff are somewhat inattentive to details. I’ve stayed there several times before and everything was impeccable then; I expected the same now.
