The waterfall is amazing! The toilets are close but leak, and there’s no hot water.

The Auberge des Cascades is a fairy‑tale, idyllic spot where the view from our valley‑view room was splendid with lush vegetation. The hosts were attentive, and having visited during the glorious FRAM era, I found the atmosphere unchanged and authentic. I recommend it 200% with great value for money.

The setting was very pleasant, surrounded by a large park with a nice view and close to the waterfalls. I tried the local specialty, honey‑glazed chicken, at the restaurant. However, the hotel itself felt very old and could use a renovation, and the pool was poorly maintained. The restaurant also shouldn't offer beef because the meat was tough and inedible.

The quiet atmosphere and the staff were great. The only downside was that the bed felt a bit small.

we drove for 5 hours over appalling roads in 42c heat. when we arrived we asked for a beer - they told us they were no longer serving wine or beer although this was mentioned in previoud reviews. the food was adequate but there were no other guests so no atmosphere the last 50kms was on a single track just wide enough for our small car with a drop of 100s of feet on one side and no barrier - luckily we met no traffic in the other direction or there would have been problems -nightmare!
